Overview

The complaint stems from a photo that has been circulating on social media, implying that residents of Umngeni Municipality will be need to reapply for their jobs now that the Democratic Alliance has gained the municipality.

Background & Outcome

The poster circulating is part of a campaign issue, regardless of how hypocritical it is for the party, and even if false or unverified, it does not harm the public. Municipal employees of any municipality can have a screening of CVs and employees in South Africa who are dishonest in their CV can generally be subjected to disciplinary action and or job termination.
