Outcome
Overview
The complaint concerns a tweet. It is unclear whether the media content is a photo of an actual MK Party poster containing the words, "We will not hesitate to take back our country by FORCE"; or if it is digitally manipulated.
Background & Outcome
It is our understanding that the posters are in fact real. The posters are calling for public violence on the day after South Africa goes to the polls in the national and provincial elections. This is incitement. Moreover, the posters violate the Electoral Code of Conduct which prohibits violence and requires parties to report planned marches to the IEC.
