A user on X generated a fake image of a burning SA flag held by the DA leader, John Steenhuisen and proffered commentary on her interpretation of the symbolism of the South African flag.

Background & Outcome

It is quite clear that the image is not real. However, nothing behoves a commentator to stick to exactly the same manner of burning South African flag as in the recent DA advert. The metaphorical symbol is the same. The text or caption to the image constitutes legitimate expression / an honestly held view on a matter of public interest.
