Terms and Conditions
These terms govern your use of the Real411 platform and complaint submission services.
By using the Real411 platform, you agree to the following terms and conditions. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you should not use the platform or submit a complaint.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the Real411 website and complaint submission portal, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these terms. The platform is operated by Media Monitoring Africa (MMA) on behalf of the Digital Complaints Committee (DCC).
2. Complaint Submission
Complaints submitted through the portal must be made in good faith. You may not submit deliberately false, defamatory, or abusive complaints. The DCC reserves the right to reject or dismiss complaints that are found to be frivolous or outside its scope.
3. Privacy and Data Protection
Your personal information will be collected, stored, and processed in accordance with applicable data protection laws, including the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). Please refer to our Privacy Policy for detailed information on how we handle your data.
4. Confidentiality
While your identity as a complainant will be kept confidential, you may not submit complaints anonymously. Appropriate technical and legal measures are in place to safeguard your personal data and protect the confidentiality of your identity in relation to the outcome.
5. Use of Information
Information submitted through the platform may be used for the purposes of investigating and resolving complaints, compiling anonymised statistical reports, and improving the platform. Your personal information will not be published or shared without your consent, except as required by law.
6. Limitation of Liability
MMA and the DCC shall not be liable for any damages arising from the use or inability to use the platform, including but not limited to direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
7. Changes to Terms
These terms may be updated from time to time. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. We encourage you to review these terms periodically.
8. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of South Africa.
